Finished By Fire creates unique burnt wood pieces using the traditional Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban (or Yakisugi), the art of preserving wood with fire. We hand burn each piece and bring out different colors and textures in the wood. It is like painting with fire. The canvas is a variety of hard and soft woods, including cedar, pine, maple, cherry, walnut, and cypress.
